Eula Mae Watson -Ash (Sykes), also known as “Kick,” was born to the late Bishop Herman Sykes and the beloved Gessie Mae Sykes Jernigan (Kilpatrick) on December 11, 1955. She was the fourth child of seven children.

 

She was preceded in death by her sisters Lenzy Leen Williams and Everlena Williams.

 

She was born and raised in Alma, Bacon County, Georgia, and educated in the Bacon County School System and a graduate of the Job Corps Culinary Arts School with a Concentration in Bakery in Atlanta, Georgia. She provided Private Home Day Care Services for family and friends. Committed to love, faith, and family and truly dedicated to Jesus Christ, her life was whole. She met and married the love of her life, Mr. Michael Anthony Ash. The couple was united in Holy Matrimony on June 17, 2017.

 

Eula Mae accepted Christ as her Savior at a very young age and was baptized at Bead Street Holiness Church in Alma, Georgia. Eula was known for her beautiful and compassionate Christian personality and loved to sing the Gospel. Her anointed, gifted voice could light up any room and bring joy to everyone under the sound of her voice, even in her darkest hour. Gospel singing was her ministry, and she never took it for granted or considered it for fortune or fame. She loved and enjoyed praising the Lord. She was a member of the Holy Voices Gospel Group of Alma, Georgia, DJ Simon, Director and member of the Soul Savers Gospel Group of Jacksonville, Florida, Reverend Roscoe Kilpatrick, Director. Eula Mae was also a member of the Spiritual Body of Christ Holiness Church in Alma, Georgia, under the late Bishop Eddie Holmes, Founder and Pastor Inez Kelly. She later became a member of Wayne Street Church of God by Faith under the leadership of Pastor Tyrone Jordan.

 

Leaving to cherish her memory are: her husband Michael Anthony Ash, Aunt Gwenzelene Newberry and Uncle Roscoe Kilpatrick, both of Jacksonville, FL; Brother(s) Herman Lee Sykes (Nadine) of Douglas, GA and Arvell Sykes of Jonesboro, GA; Sister(s) Mary Elizabeth Moore and Queen Esther Marrero, both of Jonesboro, GA. Nephews: Robert Williams, Charles Moore, Philip Williams (Monice), Angel Marrero, Jr., and Rodriquez Williams. Nieces: Yvonne Bailey, Marsha Smith (Rick), Tammy Zborek (Jed), Jacqueline Williams, and April Marrero. Brother -in -Law: James Williams and a host of great -nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

 

Harrell’s Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
