Mrs. Frances Fortune Luke, age 87 of Douglas, passed away Wednesday morning, March 31, 2021 at Vista Park following an extended illness. Mrs. Luke was born March 19, 1934 to the late Edward Willis Fortune and the late Gencie Hutto Fortune. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Luke, and sisters, Miriam Garner, Nina Burch and Mary Rowland.

Mrs. Luke, a native of Coffee County, was a homemaker. She was an active member of Northside Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

Sons: Raymond Alan Luke and wife Debbie of St. Augustine, FL
Brick Luke and wife Karen of Columbus, GA

Sister: Genelle Chitty of Powder Springs, GA

Grandchildren: Alison O’Steen of Texarkana, TX
Erica Luke of Valdosta, GA
Kristin Riddell of Columbus, GA
Matthew Luke of Dahlonega, GA

Five great grandchildren

Several friends and other relatives.

The graveside service and interment will be Saturday afternoon April 3, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Terry Reagin and her grandson, Matthew Luke will be officiating.

Active pallbearers for the service will be: Matthew Luke, Dave Morse, Michael O’Steen, Cam Reagin, Rev. Ken White and Bob Patterson

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Luke’s memory to Bethany Hospice LLC 1400 Peterson Avenue North Suite L Douglas, GA 31533 or Northside Baptist Church PO Box 2737, Douglas, GA 31534

Due to COVID-19 attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the graveside service and interment. Please wear your mask for safety precautions and in accordance with CDC guidelines.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
