Lynette L. Brown, age 82, of Ocilla, Georgia passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Irwin County Hospital. Mrs. Brown was born on July 5, 1938 in Telfair County, Georgia the daughter of the late Elisha Carlton Powell and Pauline Brooks Powell.

 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Brown, brother, Carlton Walker Powell and a niece, Martha Boney. Mrs. Brown worked as an office manager with Atlanta Gas & Light and was a graduate of Crandall College, Macon, GA.

 

Survivors include two nephews, Carl Powell Jr of Douglas, GA and Sammy Boney of McRae, GA; sister, Helen Branch of Riceboro, GA; great nieces, Nikki Gordy and Pam Whitman (Ricky); great great nephews, Cole, Sam and Jack Gordy; caretakers, Kim Jowers and Judge Jowers, both of Douglas, GA.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Paul Thomas officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Coffee County Humane Society 620 Iron Rd. Douglas, GA 31535

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
