Track teams finish fifth, eighth in Richmond Hill

The Coffee High track teams traveled to Richmond Hill to participate in the Papa’s Pizza Apex Invite. The Lady Trojans placed fifth overall in the meet scoring 53 points. The Trojans scored 46 points finishing eighth place overall. 

 

Ja’Maria Harvey placed second in the 400 meter dash running a 59.91 seconds. This time qualifying for an Elite Performance at the meet. Ja’Maria placed 7th in the 200 meter dash with a time of 27.19 seconds. 

 

Kate Merritt placed second in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:39.39. Kate had a third place finish with a time of 12:20.24.

 

Brayden Bailey had a great day setting a personal record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:48.10 placing fifth overall. Brayden placed fourth in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:50.39.

           

The 4X100 meter relay team of Breana Griffin, Iyani Johnson, Jayana Brown and Ja’Maria Harvey placed fourth with a time of 52.06 seconds.

           

Gabby Mann placed third in the long jump and triple jump. Gabby cleared 15 feet and 10.5 inches and cleared 33 feet and 3.5 inches. 

           

Cameron Watson had a second place finish in the 1600 meter run clearing 4:33.70. Cameron  placed first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 9:44.97. Both times were considered Elite Performance. 

           

Hunter Milholin had two sixth place finishes in the 1600 meter run with a time of 4:55.53 and 3200 meter run 11:04.69. 

           

Zach Cooper placed 8th in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 19.05 seconds.

           

Carter Young  competed in the 2000 meter steeplechase and placed fifth overall with a time of 7:37.61.

           

The 4X100 Meter relay team of Anthony Paulk, Tyriq Edwards, Jai Reed, and Dedrick Flagg finished with a time of 45.67 seconds. 

           

Chris Stafford had a great day in the triple jump clearing 43 feet, 11 inches for first place finish. Chris’s performance was good enough to set a new school record beating out Keon Sirmans 2003 record of 43 feet, 6.5 inches and have an Elite Track performance. 

           

Earnest Edwards placed 7th in the discus with a throw of 115 feet and 1 inch. 

 

Zyshon Reed cleared 40 feet and 11 inches in the shot put to place sixth overall.
