Jerry Riggins, age 61, of Pearson, Georgia passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Riggins was born on September 14, 1959 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Johnnie David and Betty Lou Dobbs Riggins.

 

Mr. Riggins worked as a truck driver and was of the Baptist faith.

 

Survivors include his wife Scarlett G. Riggins of Pearson, GA; 2 sons, Shawn Riggins (Marlene) of Stockton, GA and Johnny Riggins (Caitlyn) of Pearson, GA; 3 grandchildren, Nataleigh Riggins, Elijah Riggins and Case Riggins; sister, Brenda Thomas (Andrew) of Hahira, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday evening, May 8, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Ronnie Patton officiating. Interment will follow at Royals Cemetery, Pearson, GA. Pallbearers will be Leon Pittman, J.R. Riggins, Rudolph Dobbs, Andy Thomas, Johnny Riggins, and Shawn Riggins.

 

Musical selection will be “Amazing Grace” (bagpipes) on CD.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face-masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility.  Masks are not provided.
