Daniel Clayton “Danny” Taylor, 70

Daniel Clayton “Danny” Taylor, age 70, passed away Thursday, May 13, 2021 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick following an extended illness. 

 

Danny was born January 3, 1951 in Alma to  parents Paul G. Taylor Sr. and Lois Russ Taylor.  He lived in Brunswick until his high school graduation from Glynn Academy.  Danny spent his summers in Axson with his beloved Aunt Lynell and Uncle Leroy Tanner.  He loved working on their farm and soon enough made Axson his home.  Danny retired as a M&D operator from Langboard in Willacoochee.

 

He wore many hats throughout his life, but had an avid love for water skiing, softball and bowling. In later years that was replaced by fishing and the Georgia Bulldogs.  

 

Danny was proceeded in death by his parents Paul G “Bunk” Taylor Sr. and Lois Russ Taylor and three brothers: Paul David Taylor, Paul Graham Taylor, Jr., and Jerry Wayne Taylor.

 

Survived by: 

 

Daughter:  Holly Taylor Carter and husband Trevor of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

Grandchildren:  Barrett and Madi Carter of Willacoochee, Ga.

 

Two sisters:  Sherry Walden and husband David of Brunswick, Ga.

Elaine Taylor of Tennessee

 

Two special cousins:  Wanda Tanner Taft of Pearson, Ga.

 Karen Tanner Bohannan of Axson, Ga.

 

Several nieces and nephews along with other relatives also survive. 

 

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Taylor were held Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. at White Cemetery in Axson, GA. with Elder Stevie Sirmans officiating. Special music included “When I Get Where I’m Going” presented by cd.  The interment followed in White Cemetery in Axson, Ga. 

 

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
