Little Hunter Shane Hersey, age 9 months old of Pearson, Ga., was welcomed into the arms of Jesus on Monday, May 3, 2021 at Memorial Health Hospital in Savannah, Ga.

 

Born, July 23, 2020 to Shane and Marie Bennett Hersey of Pearson, Ga., Little Hunter was their “miracle baby” who laughed and smiled throughout his nine months, bringing joy, happiness, and a lifetime of love to everyone around him.  Along with his parents, he is survived by his favorite big sister, Khloe Grace.  Hunter is preceded in death by his great-grandparents; Nerle Batten and Fisher and Levine Hersey; Uncle, Gary Bennett, and Honorary Uncle, B.J. Clement.                                                                                   

 

Little Hunter is also survived by:

 

Paternal Grandparents:  Kenneth and Sandy Hersey of Pearson, Ga.

 

Maternal Grandparents:  Donny Bennett of Guyton, Ga.

                                        Cynthia “Cindy” Bennett of Savannah, Ga.

 

Paternal Great-Grandmother:  Billie Batten of Pearson, Ga.

 

Maternal Great-Grandparents:  James and Jane Evans of Waterford, Michigan

 

Aunts and Uncles:  Michael and Mary VanCleave of Lakeland, Fla.

                                 Jennifer Hersey of Douglas, Ga.

                                 Michael and Jenn Settles of Guyton, Ga.

                                 Christy Hiers of Guyton, Ga.

                                 Melissa Bennett of Savannah, Ga.

 

Several cousins along with many other relatives also survive.

 

Funeral services for Little Hunter were held Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Bro. Mark Joyce officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Amazing Grace”, “I’ll Fly Away”, and “I Believe” all rendered by c.d.  The interment followed in Royals Cemetery in Pearson, Ga.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Defronz Minor, Jonathon Smith, Phil Murray, and Casey VanCleave.

 

Relihan Funeral Home in Pearson, Ga. was in charge of the arrangements.
