Johnny Harlan Johnson of Coffee County left his earthly home in the arms of his Lord and Savior on May 23, 2021 surrounded by his family. Born in Coffee County on December 8, 1952, he was the son of the late Johnny Homer Johnson and Ruby (Ricketson) Johnson.
John was a small business owner of Johnson’s Auto and Tire repair for over 42 years. Running a 24 hour wrecker service he strived to be anywhere in the county within 20 minutes. John was a phone call away or an open ear at any hour to offer empathy and sympathy. His love for people allowed him to successfully operate multiple businesses in a community that he loved.
He was a dedicated member of First Baptist Church, Broxton Ga. John was loved by his church family. The highlight of his week was attending his Sunday school class, being found on his pew in church and enjoying a family dinner with his mother.
He had a multitude of interests. He was an avid quail hunter. He loved following his bird dogs. For over 20 years, he traveled over 1200 miles for a week-long quail hunting trip in Kansas. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast. He would make an annual family pilgrimage to Daytona Bike Week. He was able to mark an item off his bucket list for the past two years … by taking his children to the Sturgis bike rally in South Dakota. Family was priority in his life, and he never missed an annual Johnson reunion.
He is survived by his spouse, Abby Kight and her daughter (Amber Palmer); a daughter Jane Holly Johnson; two sons Ronnie Dickey (Cynthia) and Stephen Masters.
Granddaughters: Brooklyn Dickey, Jaci Palmer, Kendra Delgado, Alexis Delgado; grandsons: Matthew Palmer, Thomas Foskey, Michael Radney; great granddaughter: Raigan Delgado. He is also survived by his siblings: Martha Quinn, Glenda Martin, Vance Johnson, Valecia Musgrove. And very special covey of nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle John dearly.
