Andy Linwood Dean Sr. “Jitterbug”, 65

Andy Linwood Dean Sr. “Jitterbug”, age 65 of Nicholls, Georgia went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 28, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Dean was born on November 2, 1955 in Pavo, Georgia the son of the late Ervin and Vernie Mae Dean.

 

“Jitterbug” was employed by Lott’s Logging Company for 18 years before his retirement. He is a member at Evangel Tabernacle and he currently attended Anchor Fellowship for the past 5 years.

 

In addition to his parents, Linwood was preceded in death by an infant son, Jamie, six brothers, Jr., Bobby, Randall, Jackie, Charles and, Joey and three sisters, Laverne, Laura and, Mary.

 

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Margaret Dean of Nicholls, GA; four children, Andy “Peanut” Dean, Chris Dean (Paige), Amy Benfield (Ryan) and, Kaci Dean (Allen); four grandchildren he raised, Matthew, Christin (Chandler), Kelly and, Christopher; seven grandchildren, James (Endea), Leigh Ann (Shane), Jacob, Emma, Jazmin, Tyler and, Katilyn; four great grandchildren, Aiden, Kolten, Hunter and, John Wade Arnold “Lil boss” was the great grandchild who was a light in his life, when the Lord knew he needed it the most; two sisters, Wilma Chauncey of Douglas, GA and Kathy Holton of Perry, GA; also several nieces, nephews other family and friends.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 4, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Anchor Fellowship with Rev. Scott Smith, Rev. Jimmy Tanner, Rev. Catherine Dennison and, Rev. Roby Bennett officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Henry Morgan, Brandon Burkett, Bobby Dean Jr, Mike Swails, Randy Ellis and, Ashley Tanner.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
