Joey Swann Jr., age 61, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, June 7, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Swann was born on January 1, 1960 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Joseph Burns Swann Sr and Bessie Lee Mullis Swann.

 

Mr. Swann was a self-employed truck driver and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandchild, Azariah Paulk and 3 sisters, Mary Collins, Sherry Swann and, Marie Deloach.

 

Survivors include sons, Roy Swann (M.J.) of Douglas, GA, Matthew Swann of Douglas, GA and Josh Swann (Skyla) of Douglas, GA; daughters, Farrah Swann of Douglas, GA, Megan Swann of Douglas, GA and, Terry McClellan (Chris) of Helena, GA; 21 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, June 10, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matt Rutland officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Swann, Roy Swann, Greg Penn, Fred Cole, Marty Mercer, John Collins, Donnie Jowers and, Donald Deloach.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
