James E. Deen, age 79, of Denton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Jeff Davis County Hospital, Hazlehurst, Georgia. Mr. Deen was born on January 11, 1942 in Jeff Davis County, Georgia the son of the late George and Clara Stone Deen.

 

Mr. Deen was a self-employed carpenter.

 

Survivors include his wife, Doris G. Deen of Denton, GA; 2 daughters, Darlene Young (Tony) of Alamo, GA and, Belinda Harper (Kevin) of Douglas, GA; 2 brothers, Clayton Deen of Snipesville, GA and, Johnny Deen (Ellen) of Douglas, GA; 5 grandchildren, Jared Harper (Amber) of Douglas, GA, Ryan Harper (Allison) of Broxton, GA, Logan Harper of Douglas, GA, Claire Harper of Douglas, GA and, Tyler Young of Alamo, GA; 4 great grandchildren, Jaycee Harper, Jace Harper, Graycee Harper and, Levi Harper; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Friday evening, June 18, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Denton City Cemetery, Denton, GA with Rev. Tim Mock and Rev Tommy Shrouder officiating. Pallbearers will be Ryan Harper, Logan Harper, Tyler Young, Jon Michael Deen, Kevin Harper and Tony Young.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
