Linda Dean Jernigan, age 74, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Jernigan was born on October 23, 1946 in Henegar, Alabama the daughter to the late R.V. & Walladean Adams Jernigan.

 

Mrs. Jernigan was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Wooten and a brother, Dale Jernigan.

 

Survivors include 2 daughters, Darlene Higdon (Stuart) of Fort Rock, AL and Kylene Hartline (John) of Fort Payne, AL; son, James Wooten (Jamie) of Batavia, Ohio; 4 sisters, Frances Sisk of Douglas, GA, Betty Steverson (Lenny) of St. Augustine, FL, Donna Ross (Allen) of Broxton, GA and, Anita Chaney (Jeff) of Douglas, GA; brother, Phil Jernigan (Levanda) of Douglas, GA; step-daughter, Angie Clayton of Ft. Payne, AL; 8 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, nephews and, cousins.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Rocky Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Spikes and Rev. Tommy Miller officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
