Mr. Rudy Jack Bennett, age 76 of Pearson, Ga., passed away, Monday, June 21, 2021, at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, Ga., following an extended illness.  Born on September 25, 1944, in Branford, Florida, to Mr. and Mrs. Cliff and Myrtice Bailey Bennett, Jack made his home in Pearson with his wife and children.  He worked as a Boiler Operator with Manor Timber Company for over thirty years.  He was a hard-working man, who took great pride in taking care of his family.  Mr. Bennett attended Indian Mound Church and was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his wife; Marylene Bennett and brother; William Bennett.

 

Survivors include:

 

Sons:  Charlie Bennett of Pearson, Ga.

Jackie Bennett of Pearson, Ga.

Christopher Bennett of Pearson, Ga.

Timothy Rowe of Alapaha, Ga.

 

Daughter:  Brenda Rowe Herring of Nashville, Ga.

 

Sisters:  Elizabeth Taft and husband, Fred of Axson, Ga.

Virginia Horton and husband, Olen of Willacoochee, Ga.

Marie Stevenson of Homerville, Ga.

Morning Smith of Douglas, Ga.

 

6 Grandchildren, 7 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. 

 

Funeral services for Mr. Bennett were held Friday, June 25, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Relihan Funeral Home Chapel in Pearson, Ga. with Rev. Drake Lomax officiating.  Special musical selections included, “Lead Me Home”, “Go Rest High on That Mountain”, and “I Can Only Imagine” all rendered by c.d.  The interment followed in Sunnyside Church Cemetery.

 

Serving as active pallbearers were:  Donald Hall, Mitchell Hall, Joseph Taft, Michael Horton, Charlie Bennett and Jackie Bennett.

 

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
