Dr. Justin Peterson of CRH Women’s Center is now a board-certified OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Seeing patients in both Douglas and Waycross, Dr. Peterson specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, infertility, birth control, menopause, urogynecology including urinary leakage, as well as vaginal and uterine prolapse.

In order to be board eligible, a physician must complete a strenuous pathway that includes 4 years of undergraduate studies, 4 years of medical school where detailed testing is required to obtain Medical Doctorate status, and then an additional 4 years of medical residency.  After completing residency, a Qualifying Exam is required to be passed in order to become board-eligible and for the physician to be able to see patients. Once the physician is board-eligible and begins practice they begin to prepare for their clinical presentation to the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology for consideration.

A native of Coffee County, Dr. Peterson attended Mercer University for his undergraduate studies and continued his education at Mercer University School of Medicine where he obtained his Doctorate of Medicine in 2014. He then continued as a Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident at Navicent Health in Macon and immediately passed his Qualifying Exam upon completing that residency in 2018. After practicing for 2 years with CRH Women’s Center, Dr. Peterson was prepared to sit for the lengthy examinations with the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecologists. Dr. Peterson passed his examination which is a testament to the knowledge and expertise he has obtained in both his education and practice as an OB/GYN.

Board-certified physicians are required to complete a maintenance of certification each year in order to keep board certification as well as ensure the physician is up-to-date on the latest information in their respective field of medicine. If you would like to check the verification of your OB/GYN, visit the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology online at:  https://www.abog.org/verify-physician.

Dr. Justin Peterson is currently accepting new patients. To schedule an appointment with him at CRH Women’s Center, please call (912) 384-2500, or visit us online at https://www.crhwomenscenter.com.
