Dr. Gary Ashley Clements, age 69, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2021 at his residence. Dr. Clements was born on June 16, 1952 in Douglas, Georgia the son of the late Willie & Evelyn Williams Clements.

Dr. Clements was the former pastor of First Baptist Church Broxton, Broxton, GA and also pastored West Green Baptist Church, West Green, GA, Denton Baptist Church, Denton, GA, Riverbend Baptist Church, Ocilla, GA, Pearson First Baptist Church, Pearson, GA and, Caney Creek Baptist Church, Paxton, FL. He was also a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Vietnam War.

 

Survivors include his wife, Shanda Marie Clements of Nicholls, GA; daughter, Deanna Michelle Clements of Nicholls, GA; son, Gary Michael (Mike) Clements (Amber Lynn) of Benkelman, Nebraska; 7 grandchildren, Ashley Wilson, Aaron Spivey (Adam), Lydia Davis (James Anthony), Ethan Clements, Joshua Clements, Carlina Clements, Lyndi Rose Clements; 4 great grandchildren, Nicholas Wilson, Hunter Wilson, Harliee Jones and, Mason Jones; brother, Donnie Clements (Elsie) of Oregon; 2 sisters, Joyce Barnwell (Hal) of Douglas, GA and, Denise Waldron of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 13, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Broxton.

 

Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Broxton with Rev. George Carroll Paulk officiating. 

 

Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to the Gideons International PO Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
