Mr. Kenneth Luke McDonald, age 55 of Pearson, Ga., passed away Sunday, June 27, 2021, at his home following an extended illness.  A native of Atkinson County, Mr. McDonald was born July 29, 1965, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas E. and Evelyn McKinnon McDonald.  He was 1983 graduate of Atkinson County High School and attended South Georgia College and Valdosta State University.  Mr. McDonald worked in construction and was an avid reader, musician, and guitar player.  He also had a great love of horses and enjoyed fox hunting. 

 

Mr. McDonald was of the Catholic faith and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  He was preceded in death, along with his parents, by his brother, Calvin McDonald and two sisters: Peggy McDonald and Linda Bowen.

 

Survivors include:

 

Brother:  Fred McDonald of Pearson, Ga.

 

Sisters:  Sue White and husband, Doodle of Pearson, Ga.

Laverne Carver and husband, Craig of Pearson, Ga.

Ruth McDonald of Pearson, Ga.

 

Several nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.

 

A memorial service, given by family and friends in honor of Mr. McDonald, was held Friday, July 2, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church Cemetery. Special musical selections included, “The Way I Am” and “I’ll Fly Away” rendered by soloist Kelly Morris on the guitar. 

 

Memorialization was by cremation.

Relihan Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
