Dewey Chaney, Jr, age 77, of Waverly, Georgia passed away on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Golden Isle Hospice, Brunswick, Georgia. Mr. Chaney was born on November 25, 1944 in Coffee County, Georgia the son of the late Dewey R. Chaney, Sr and Lucinda Goff Chaney.

 

Mr. Chaney was a self-employed plumber and a member of Darien Church of God, Darien, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Johnnie Faye Chaney, son, Patrick Chaney and, 2 sisters, Nell C. Wooten and Mae C. Harper.

 

Survivors include his wife, Patricia B. Chaney of Waverly, GA; daughter, Michelle C. Selhorst (Kevin) of Norfolk, VA; son, Rodney Chaney (Carolyn) of West Green, GA; step-daughter, Jessica Nicole Strickland (Elmer) of Waynesville, GA; 10 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. at Pineview Church of God with Brother Tommy Whaley officiating. A second memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at Darien Church of God with Brother Tommy Whaley officiating.

 

Memorialization is by cremation.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
