Mr. Maxie Ernest Bell, age 73 of Douglas, passed away late Wednesday evening, August 4, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Bell was born April 14, 1948 to the late Ernest Leroy Bell and the late Lillian Lucille Waters Bell.

Mr. Bell, a native of Madison, FL, had been a truck driver for 28 years with Wal-Mart and 21 years with Publix. He was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Vietnam Era. Mr. Bell was of the Church of God faith.

Survivors include:

His Wife: Charlotte Nickell Bell of Douglas, GA

Sons: Brian Maxie Bell and wife Janet of St. Augustine, FL
Matthew Todd Bell and wife Tanya of Odessa, FL
Mark Allan Bell and wife Allison of Douglas, GA

Sisters: Judy Jackson and Peggy Self both of Lakeland, FL

Eight Grandchildren

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2021 at 3:00 PM at the Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home.

Memorialization is by cremation.

Due to COVID-19, attendees are asked to observe six foot social distancing at the memorial service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
