Mrs. Katherine Elaine Hursey Chaney, 66 of Douglas, GA passed away Tuesday August 10, 2021 at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, GA with her loved ones by her side. She was born on December 6, 1954 to the late Marion Melvin Hursey and Louise Cady Hursey.

 

Mrs. Chaney was a member of Calvary Mission Holiness Baptist Church and dedicated her life to serving the Lord and her family.

 

Mrs. Chaney is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rev. Gene Chaney of Douglas, GA.

 

Daughter; Gina Chaney Burke (Steven) of Waycross, GA.

 

Son; Shane Chaney (Kathy) of Nicholls, GA.

 

3 Granddaughters; Chelsea Burke of Ambrose, GA.

                                Brittany Chaney Harrell (Jesse) of Douglas, GA.

                                Hannah Chaney of Nicholls, GA.

 

2 Grandsons; Nathan Burke (Alyssa) of Broxton, GA.

                      Levi Chaney of Nicholls, GA.

 

2 Great-Grandsons; Kason Howell of Nicholls, GA.

                                 Dixon Burke of Broxton, GA.

 

Sister; Lynn Hersey (Dody) of Douglas, GA.

 

Several Nieces, Nephews and other family members also survive.

 

Family will receive friends Friday August 13, 2021 from 9 AM – 11 AM with funeral services starting at 11 AM at First Assembly of God in Douglas, GA.

 

Active Pallbearers; Dewayne Paulk, Bull Brown, Peter Brown, Cody Hersey, Aaron Fuller, Jesse Harrell and Levi Chaney.

 

Johnson Funeral & Cremation Services is in charge of arrangements.
