Mrs. Lillie Magdalene “Mag” Spivey White, age 59 of Douglas, GA, passed away Saturday evening, August 7, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. White was born February 12, 1962 to the late Dewey Spivey and the late Novella Sellers Spivey of Axson, GA.

Magdalene, a native of Coffee County, retired this year after teaching for 30 years in the Coffee County School System. She faithfully attended Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist Church of Fales. Her strong work ethic followed her wherever she went, from the hot fields, to the altar, and into the classroom. Her excitement for learning and her constant encouragement left lasting marks on the lives of all the students who’ve sat in her classroom.

Son: Tyler White of Douglas, GA

5 Brothers: David Spivey and wife Patty of Axson, GA
Johnny Spivey of Axson, GA
Paul Spivey and wife Cindy of Douglas, GA
Ben Spivey of West Green, GA
Silas Spivey and wife LaQuita of Brunswick, GA

6 Sisters: Sarah Hinson of Ambrose, GA
Jewel Call of Douglas, GA
Esther Burch of Douglas, GA
Mary Werntz and husband David of Douglas, GA
Shalisha Smith of Douglas, GA
Miriam Howard and husband Bill of West Green, GA

Countless nieces, nephews and other family friends

The funeral service will be Wednesday afternoon, August 11, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Jowers Chapel Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Marshall Dye and Rev. Tim Mock officiating. The interment will follow in Tanner Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, August 10, 2021 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tyler White for his upcoming move to the Cayman Islands to attend medical school.
