Drug officers make arrests

The Coffee County Drug Unit announces the following recent arrests:

 

Aug. 4 – A Coffee County K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on a motorcycle at Hwy. 221 and Daisy Ave. for failure to use a turn signal and a brake light violation. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as Benny Maurice Bolen, was found to be in possession of a firearm and methamphetamine. Bolen was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, and possession of drug related objects.

 

Aug. 8 – An officer with Broxton Police Department initiated a traffic stop for an equipment violation on a vehicle driven by Charlie Brown Jr. of White Plains, Ga. A probable cause search was conducted on the vehicle, where officers discovered large amounts of methamphetamine, ecstasy, and marijuana. Various drug related objects were also located, along with a firearm. Brown was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine, trafficking in ecstasy, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

 

Aug. 10 – The Coffee County Drug Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Phillips Street in Douglas. An individual identified as Sylvester Miller was located at the residence, where detectives uncovered suspected crack cocaine, suspected marijuana, and digital scales. Miller was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine with intent to distribute within 1000 feet of public housing, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug related objects.

 

Aug. 11 – A Coffee County K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop for a violation of the hands-free law. An individual identified as Michael Tucker was inside the vehicle and found to be in possession of marijuana and digital scales. Another individual in the vehicle, Demon Blank, was found to be in possession of a firearm. As a result of the incident, Tucker was charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of drug related objects. Blank was charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.

 

Aug. 11 – A Coffee County K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop for failure to stop at a stop sign. The driver, Jerriane Demetrice Williams, was found to be in possession of suspected marijuana, suspected cocaine, digital scales, and a firearm. As a result of the incident, Williams was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, driving while license suspended, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance near government housing, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of drug related objects.

 

Aug. 12 – Coffee County Drug Unit detectives initiated a traffic stop on a black in color Volkswagen sedan for failure to maintain its lane of travel on Ga. Hwy. 135 and Mora Rd. in Douglas. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Juan Eloy Quintanilla, who was found to in possession of hydrocodone tablets. Quintanilla was charged with possession of a controlled substance. Following the incident the Coffee County Drug Unit contacted the Atkinson County Sheriff’s Office and requested assistance for further investigation at a Mancil Rd. location in Willacoochee, Ga. As a result, Quintanilla was found to be in possession of 2.5 kilos of methamphetamine and a firearm.
