Ennis Hester, age 79, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Monday, August 16, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Hester was born on January 25, 1942 in Irwin County, Georgia the son of the late William & Elizabeth Glider Hester.

 

Mr. Hester retired as a salesman with Moultrie Housing Center and was a member of First Congregational Church, Douglas, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Young Hester.

 

Survivors include his children, Glen Hester (Amy), Ian Hester (Amy), Chuck Wall (Cindy) and Carli Hester; 7 grandchildren, Christopher Hester, Lauren Hester, Jordan Thompson (David), Samantha Bowen (Skyler), Ansleigh Burnam, Izabel Hester and, Ivy Hester; 8 great grandchildren.

 

The family will receive friends Friday, August 20, 2021 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 20, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at First Congregational Church with Rev. Matt Rutland and Rev. Stanley Norman officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
