Mary Meeks Davis, age 85, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Memorial Satilla Medical Center, Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. Davis was born on October 10, 1935 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Lonnie & Cassie Taylor Meeks.

 

Mrs. Davis retired as a seamstress with Streat’s Inc and was a member of Church of God of Prophecy, Nicholls, Georgia. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by 4 brothers, John M. Meeks, W.L. Meeks, Hubert Meeks, Alton G. Meeks and by 5 sisters, Thelma Douglas, Oletha Thomas, Vonice Anderson, Beatrice Youngblood and, Ilene Davis.

 

Survivors include daughter, Nina G. Simpson (Bill) of Millwood, GA; son, Bobby Davis Jr (Stacey) of Nicholls, GA; 3 grandchildren, Aaron Simpson, Cassidy Carter (Michael) and Jordan Davis; 1 great grandchild Bay Carter; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 30, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Meeks Cemetery.

 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday August 30, 2021 at Meeks Cemetery with Rev. Tommy James officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Youngblood, Brock Tanner, Justin Griffin, Jordan Davis, Michael Rouse and Jake Simpson.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
