Jacqueline Junette “Pig” Smith, age 55, of Omega, Georgia passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at Tift Regional Medical Center, Tifton, Georgia. Mrs. Smith was born on June 18, 1966 in Decatur County, Georgia the daughter of the late Thomas Burke and Laura Alday Hemphill Vasquez.

 

Mrs. Smith worked at Pilgram’s Pride/Golden Poultry and was of the Holiness Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Story and a brother, Daniel Burke.

 

Survivors include daughter, Treecil Peacock of Douglas, GA; 2 sons, Terry Smith, Jr. (Michele) of Florida and, Brandon Smith of Douglas, GA; 3 sisters, Ruthie Mae Anderson of Douglas, GA, Thalia A. Cooper of Georgia and Melissa Greenhill of Florida; 2 brothers, Steven Croker of Omega, GA and Earl Burke; 3 grandchildren, Tara Peacock, Dianna Smith and Morgan Smith; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Monday, September 6, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 7, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Steve Anderson officiating. Interment will follow at Douglas City Cemetery.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
