The Lady Trojans brought their offense to the yard last week in a couple region games scoring 15 and 24 runs on the road in Jesup and Warner Robins.

Coffee knocked off last season’s region champ Tuesday in Wayne County by a score of 15-5. The Lady Trojans pounded out 12 hits including 2 long homers by senior Emmy Elisis. Elisis drove in 6 runs with a total of 3 hits in the game.   Jenna Graham, Hannah Capps, Kaci Thacker, and Erin Robinson added 2 hits apiece, all of them doubles for the winners.  Senior Emily Robinson added 1 hit to round out the attack.  Both Robinsons held the Jackets to 5 hits while Erin struck out 12 through 6 innings.  Emily came on in relief and struck out 2 in an inning of work.

The Lady Trojans were back on I-75 Thursday visiting Warner Robins and hanging 24 runs on the Demons with a final of 24-7.  Emily Robinson started and struck out 3 in 2 innings while Lacey Stone struck 4 in 3 innings.  Coffee’s highest run and hit total were set pounding out 16 including homers by Emily Robinson, a grand slam, and Hannah Capps a 3 run jack.  Emily added 3 more hits and drove in 6 runs for the good guys.  Hannah Capps and and Emmy Elisis had 3 hits each including a triple by Elisis.  Kaci Thacker had 2 hits in the win while Jenna Graham, Shyanne Jump, Maddie Merritt, and Lacey Stone chipped in a hit in the win.

“It was great to see us score a bunch of runs in a couple region games, this team can really hit when know the strike zone. Sometimes we’re our own worst enemy at the plate,” said head coach Stan Hughes.

Coffee has 2 big region games on the road this week at Ware and Veterans after pushing their region record to 2-1.
