Mrs. Betsy Burch Hutcheson, age 78 of Milledgeville, GA, formerly of Douglas, GA, passed away Thursday morning, September 9, 2021 at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin in Milledgeville, GA following a short illness. Mrs. Hutcheson was born May 16, 1943 to the late Dennis Burch and the late Beadie Varnedore Burch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Homer Cecil Hutcheson and a sister Estelle Stubbs.

Mrs. Hutcheson, a native of Coffee County, was a co-owner and operator of Hutcheson Milling Company.

Survivors include:

2 Daughters: Tori Gober of Greensboro, GA
Vickie Lucas of Indianola, IA

2 Step-Children: Chris Hutcheson of Douglas, GA
Cecile Dockery of Nicholls, GA

1 Sister: Loney Davis of Brunswick, GA

3 Brothers: Johnny Burch and Willie Burch both of Willacoochee, GA
Wilbern Burch of Green Cove Springs, FL

6 Grandchildren: Christopher Hutcheson, Kim Barrett and Jimmy Reliford,
Jr. all of Douglas, GA
Jonathan Pruitt of Greensboro, GA
Jasey Pruitt of Guam
Reese Lucas of Indianola, IA

A number of Great Grand Children

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and a Many Friends

The funeral service will be Sunday afternoon, September 12, 2021 at 2:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Rev. Eric Burch officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Saturday evening, September 11, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ricketson Funeral Home Chapel.

Active pallbearers for the service will be: David Radcliff, Stuart Burch, Michael O’Neal, Christopher Hutcheson, Derrick Whitley and Layne Duffield.

Musical Selections will be “Amazing Grace” and “I’ll Fly Away”.

Due to COVID-19, the family would like to ask that all attendees, please follow the rules of social distancing, and wear your mask for safety precautions at the service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
