Jimmie Ray Batten, Sr., age 66, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at his residence. Mr. Batten was born on August 4, 1955, in Douglas, GA to Micajah Batten and Ora Lee Lary Batten.

 

Survivors include: Wife, Wilma Jean Batten of Nicholls, GA, Son, Jimmy Ray Batten Jr, Daughter, Belinda (Stacy) Kirkland of Nicholls, GA, Brother, Gary Batten of Douglas, GA, Brother, Ben Batten of Douglas, GA, Sister, Marilyn of Douglas, GA, Grandchildren, Khirstyn Morgan, Chesney (Skyler) Manac, and Rayley Batten.  Great-Grandchildren, Remi Gayle Morgan, Liam Manac, Paisley Manac, Makinliegh Manac.  He was preceded in death by: His  Father, Micajah Batten; Mother, Ora Lee Lary Batten, and a Sister, Linda Gail Gillis; . 

 

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 4:00PM at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Merritt and Rev. Russell Joiner officiating. Interment will follow at Mora Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 18, 2021 from 3:00PM to 4:00PM at Sims Funeral Home. 

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of COVID-19, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
