Terry Allie Herrington, age 71, of Broxton, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September22, 2021 at his residence. Mr. Herrington was born on December 27, 1949 in Hazlehurst, Georgia the son of the late Allie Herrington and Myrtice Jewell Batchelor.

 

Mr. Herrington worked for Wal-Mart as a truck driver, was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Wesley Chapel, Alma, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, James Timothy Herrington and a sister, Shirley Dale Herrington Stapleton.

 

Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Ann Herrington of Broxton, GA; 2 sons, Eric Lee Herrington (Cathy) of Broxton, GA and Jacob Byron Herrington of Broxton, GA; 6 grandchildren, Zachery Herrington, Sydney Herrington, Emilee Herrington, Mason Herrington, Dakota Herrington and Dillon Herrington; 2 great grandchildren, Alaina Kirkland and, Nathan Kirkland; brother, Wayne Herrington (Dana) of Alma, GA; daughter-in-law, Sue Ellen Herrington of Douglas, GA; several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 25, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 25, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. at Douglas City Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Williams officiating. Wayne Herrington will give a eulogy. Pallbearers will be Jacob Herrington, Eric Herrington, Mason Herrington, Zachery Herrington, Dakota Herrington and Shannon Harper.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
