On Tuesday, September 21, the Douglas-Coffee County community celebrated the grand opening and ribbon cutting for Called to Care of Coffee County Resource Center, operated by Center Director Fallon Thurston. Pastor Chris Watson of Gracepointe Church started the ceremony by praying over the Called to Care ministry. City of Douglas Mayor Tony Paulk and his Junior Council attended the ceremony to thank Mrs. Thurston and the Called to Care team for all they do for Coffee County children and families. The Douglas-Coffee County Chamber of Commerce staff were present to offer their support to Mrs. Thurston and wish the Called to Care ministry great success.

The mission of Called to Care is to equip the body of Christ to support children, families, and workers by ministering through adoption, foster care, and missions.  Their vision is for every child to be in a Christ-centered loving home. Called to Care of Coffee County works diligently to provide for the needs of children in Coffee County to include every thing from car seats to shoes, diapers to mattresses. You can help by donating gently used items, volunteering your time to help with deliveries, or by simply giving of your financial resources.
