Richard Taft Lee, age 62, of Waresboro, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 at Memorial Satilla Health, Waycross, Georgia. Mr. Lee was born on January 17, 1959 in Clinch County, Georgia the son of the late Thomas H. & Nadine Pittman Lee.

 

Mr. Lee was a logging supervisor for Hatfield Timber and was of the Church of God Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter, Destney Nichole O’Berry, sister, Diane E. Merritt and 2 brothers, Freddie Lee & Emanuel Lee.

 

Survivors include wife, Barbara Ann Lee of Waresboro, GA; daughter, Tracy C. Lee of Waresboro, GA; 2 grandsons, Steven O’Berry of Waresboro, GA and Hunter O’Berry of Nicholls, GA; 4 brothers, Larry Lee of Waycross, GA, Grover Lee (Dorcey) of Waresboro, GA, Mathew Lee of Waycross, GA and Christopher Lee of Waycross, GA; 3 sisters, Pamela Lee Allen (Jimmy) of Mississippi, Rebecca Lee Joiner (O.L) of Mississippi and Elizabeth Dilbert (Joe) of Douglas, GA; several nieces & nephews.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 6, 2021 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clayton Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Telmore Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Billy Nettles, Dustin Lee, Billy Nettles Jr., Hunter O’Berry, David Nettles and Pat Davis.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
