Mr. Robert A. Summerlin, age 83, of Pearson, Ga., passed away peacefully at his home Friday, September 17, 2021 following an extended illness.

Born July 9, 1938 in Albany, Ga., Rob was the son of the late J.L. Summerlin and Ruby Carter Summerlin. He was a graduate of Emory University, receiving his MBA from Emory in 1961. He was past president of and CEO of The Citizens Exchange Bank in Pearson. He had a life-long banking career of over 60 years. Rob loved people. He was a kind and gentle man. We will miss his smile.

Rob is survived by his daughter Meg “M” Summerlin, his son-in-law, Warren A. Tyre, daughter-in-law, Karen Summerlin, grandchildren, Collin Summerlin and Olivia Summerlin and his sister-in-law, Martha Moore. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Jeannie Summerlin, his beloved son, Scott Summerlin, his brother, Carter Summerlin and his sister, Latona Summerlin.

Due to COVID and the health safety of others there will be no visitation or service at this time.

Relihan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
