Mayor Tony Paulk and participants from 17 counties in Georgia attended the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) District 11 Fall meeting in Douglas on Monday, September 27, 2021.
“We were happy to host the GMA District 11 Fall meeting,” says Mayor Tony Paulk. “We love to have officials from our region visit our great city and experience the hospitality of Douglas. Anytime we can welcome state officials to our city it’s a great day in Douglas.”
GMA member cities had the opportunity to watch a GMA update, participate in an interactive Equity & Inclusion experience and receive a report on the work of the Association’s E&I Commission, hear the latest information on American Rescue Plan Act funding, discuss key city issues expected to be considered during the 2022 legislative session, and more.
Among the presenters were Barbara Maefield (Mayor of Nahunta and GMA District 11 President), Larry Hanson (GMA Executive Director), Freddie Broome (Equity & Inclusion Director), Becky Taylor (Federal Relations and Research Director), and Emily Davenport (District 11 Member Services Consultant).
