Brenda Sue Stodghill, age 68, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021, at Satilla Hospice in Waycross, Georgia. Mrs. Stodghill was born on September 2, 1953, in Douglas, GA, to Samuel Vinson Stodghill and Annie Maude Harper Stodghill.

 

Her survivors include: Daughter, Tabitha Renee’ Holtzclaw , husband Damon of Douglas, GA, Brother, Donald Stodghill, wife Elaine of Alapaha, GA, Niece, Donna Browning  husband Lee of Adel, GA, Niece, Reagan Nugent, husband John of Alapaha, GA, Nephew, William Stodghill, wife,  Missy of Nashville, GA, Nephew, Richard Stodghill, of Columbus, GA, 18 Great nieces and nephews, 4 Great-Great  nieces and nephews, along with many extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by: Daughter, Katrina Lynn Wright; Mother, Annie Maude Harper, Stodghill; Father, Samuel Vinson Stodghill, Grandparents Osie and Lucy Harper.

 

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to College Avenue Baptist Church,714 College Ave. S, Douglas, Ga. 31533; OR Satilla Hospice House, 811 Beacon St., Waycross, Ga. 31501-7109 or Coffee Regional COVID-19 Endowment, 1101 Ocilla Rd, Douglas, Ga. 31533

 

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 2:00PM, at College Avenue Baptist Church, with Rev. Matt Rutland and Rev. Mark Mercer officiating. Active pallbearers will be Steven Leavens, Jamie Stodghill, Clark Holton, David Browning, Arlo Smith, and Matt Cauthen. Interment will follow at St. Illa Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 12:00PM until 1:45PM, at Sims Funeral Home. 

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
