The City of Douglas is seeking qualified construction contractors to participate in their Community HOME Investment Program (CHIP) neighborhood revitalization program. The CHIP neighborhood revitalization program provides funds for the rehabilitation of homes of low/moderate income individuals within a specific target area who meet the qualifications.
The City of Douglas will be holding a meeting with interested contractors on October 13, 2021 at 2:30 pm at the City of Douglas Community Development Department, 211 S. Gaskins Avenue, Douglas, GA 31533 (location known as the Ashley-Slater House).
To qualify as a contractor for the CHIP program, the following requirements must be met:
- General Contractor must provide proof of insurance:
Bodily Injury – $100,000; Property Damage – $50,000
- General Contractor MUST be licensed in the State of Georgia
- Complete a Contractor Application Form
- Model Accredited Renovator Certificate
- Pass the State Clearance Process
The City of Douglas’ CHIP Neighborhood Revitalization Program is administered by the Southern Georgia Regional Commission (SGRC) located in Waycross, Georgia. Contractor solicitations will remain open during the length of the program. Contractors will be limited to one project each until their first project is completed and approved.
