Mary L. Hutchison, age 89, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021 in Douglas, Georgia. Mrs. Hutchison was born on July 7, 1932 in Coffee County, Georgia the daughter of the late Alvin Gieger and Pearlie Adams Gieger.

 

Mrs. Hutchison was a homemaker and was a member of Harrell Grove Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, J.T. Hutchison, son, Walter Hutchison, 4 brothers and 1 sister.

 

Survivors include daughter, Lawanna Tarrant of Douglas, GA; son, Daren Hutchison of Douglas, GA; 6 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.

 

The family will receive friends Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Harrell Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Jimbo Steed officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Hursey, Rodney Hutchison, Chris Hutchison, Perry Gieger, Bill Gieger and J.A. Anderson.

 

Music will be provided by Richard Wilson, singing “Beulah Land” and “Stroll Over Heaven” and a CD song, “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be”.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
