John Henry Murphy, age 52, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mr. Murphy was born on March 16, 1969 in Jeff Davis County, Georgia the son of the late John Henry Murphy & Ms. Dean Brown.
Mr. Murphy was self-employed working in construction and was a mechanic. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, Douglas, Georgia. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Niner Jean Ellis and Wilma Carter.
Survivors include his wife, Aundra Michelle Murphy of Douglas, GA; son, Hunter Murphy of Douglas, GA; two daughters, Cassie Murphy of Douglas, GA and Leann Woods of Douglas, GA; step-daughter, Kimberly Hulett (Bill) of Jacksonville, GA; two step-sons, Trent Wade of Alma, GA and Dusty Wade (Candice) of Alma, GA; four brothers, Johnny B. Murphy (Dorothy) of Waycross, GA, John Steven Murphy (Diane) of Brunswick, GA, Donnie Murphy (Lisa) of Offerman, GA and Lonnie Murphy (Tammy) of Screven, GA; four sisters, Nancy Ansley (Daniel) of Baxley, GA, Evelyn “Toot” Morris (Daniel) of Baxley, GA, Doral Taylor of Milledgeville, GA and Dorthanell McCellan of Yulee, FL; 11 grandchildren, Blakelyn Hulett, Ace Wade, Gage Wade, Tate Wade, Kali Mae Wade, Hayden Wade, Michael Nipper, Noah Nipper, Christopher Eli Bender and Kali and Maci Woods; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Monday, October 18, 2021 from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Sims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Stone and Rev. Kevin Stone officiating. Interment will follow at
Chatterton Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grady Meeks, Brandon Minix, Don Phinazee, John Dykes, Johnny Wayne Jowers and Ricky Giles.
