Mr. Tony Pope (Murdick Anthony Pope) age 60 of Douglas, GA, passed away on Tuesday evening, October 19, 2021 at Vista Park Health and Rehab following an extended illness. Mr. Pope was preceded in death by his mother, the late Mary Lee Harper Pope and a sister, Teresa Pope and a nephew, Michael Pope.
Mr. Pope was born, May 13, 1961 in Douglas, Ga. He was an EMT for Coffee Regional Medical Center for a number of years. He was a member of Carver Baptist Church.
Tony enjoyed anything involving aviation, fishing, listening to music, taking pictures of wildlife and spending time with many family and friends.

Nephews: Rodney Pope and wife Kelley of Rockmart, GA
Jeremy Harris of Wynnewood, OK
Several great nieces and nephews: Chesney Carter Gowen and husband Josh, Kyler Carter and wife Claudia, Hannah Bowman, Truett Bowman, Eli Bowman, Eisley Pope, Alexa Pope, Mary Jade Harris, Kaly Griner and Mia Griner. Many family and friends.
The family will receive friends Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Carver Baptist Church, Douglas, GA.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2021 at 4:00 PM at Carver Church Cemetery, Douglas, GA with Rev. Gregory Pope and Jackie Pope officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Carver Baptist Missions Memorial Fund on Tony’s behalf. You may donate online at carverbaptistchurch.org or the main office at the Church from 8:00 A.M. until 1:00 PM. Make check payable to Carver Baptist Church, designated for Missions Memorial.
