Coffee Regional Medical Center (CRMC) is proud to announce that it has opened its second state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab at its Heart & Vascular Center. The completion of this project offers enhancement and expansion of cardiovascular services here at home.

Hundreds of minimally invasive diagnostic tests and interventional procedures are already being performed to diagnose cardiovascular disease in the Heart & Vascular Center at CRMC. The additional lab will allow more patients to be treated on a day-to-day basis.  “Our interventional cardiology service line has exceeded our expectations since its launch in early 2019. We recognized the need for a second cath lab shortly thereafter and are pleased to see this new lab open. It is an important part of our strategic plan,” stated Vicki Lewis, President, and CEO of Coffee Regional.

Our cardiovascular physician team has proven essential to the success of this service line. Medical Director and Interventional Cardiologist Glenn H Evans, M.D., FACC, and Invasive Cardiologists, Joel W. Ferree, M.D., and Willie Bell, M.D. were pivotal in the establishment of the Interventional Cardiovascular services at CRMC. Their leadership and focus on great patient outcomes has been unwavering. In 2020, CRH Cardiology Group welcomed two additional Interventional Cardiologists; Manish Bansal, M.D., FACC, FSCAI, and Kendall Griffith, M.D., FACC, FACP, FSCAI. Both of these physicians are well trained and experienced and we are grateful to have them on our team.

The new cardiac cath lab features state-of-the-art equipment and technology essential to offering our patients the best care possible. Common procedures in both of the CRMC labs include cardiac catheterizations and the placement of cardiac stents. Peripheral vascular studies and stents are also performed as well as pacemaker and other procedures.

In 2020 this outstanding team along with hospital clinical leaders achieved Level II Emergency Cardiac Care certification from the state of Georgia making CRMC one of only 11 centers in Georgia to achieve this status.

Coffee Regional Medical Center is dedicated to providing quality, life-saving cardiac care close to home.
