Mr. James K. “Kenny” McLendon, age 68 of Douglas, passed away early Friday evening, November 5, 2021 at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. McLendon was born July 18, 1953 to the late Willie Junior McLendon and the late Christine O’Neal McLendon. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Wendy McLendon.


Kenny, a native of Douglas, GA had been a truck driver for Walmart. He was a faithful member of West Ward Church of God

Survivors include:

His wife: Jan Baker McLendon of Douglas, GA

2 Children: Christy Vickers and husband Adam of Douglas, GA
Kenneth McLendon and wife Christy of Douglas, GA

3 Brothers: Danny McLendon and Terry McLendon both of Douglas, GA
Dickie McLendon of Newnan, GA

4 Grandchildren: Andrew Spivey, Kennedy McLendon, Eli Vickers, Abigail McLendon all of Douglas, GA

1 Great Grand Child: Dru Spivey of Douglas, GA

A Number of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends.

The Funeral Service will be Monday afternoon, November 8, 2021 at 2:00 PM at West Ward Church of God with Bishop Britt Peavy, Bishop Richard Baker and Rev. Brandon McMillan officiating. The interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery.

The family will receive friends, Sunday afternoon, November 7, 2021 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at West Ward Church of God.

Active Pallbearers for the service will be: Kevin Gillespie, Greg Luke, Adam Fussell, Trent Bennett, Shane Cumbass and Zane Cumbass.

Due to COVID-19, the family asks that all attendees please follow the rules of social distancing and wear your mask for safety precautions at the visitation and funeral service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
