Mrs. Beatrice Kirkland Rhymes, age 91 of Brunswick, GA passed away early Tuesday morning, November 23, 2021 at Bayview Nursing and Rehab in Nahunta, GA. Mrs. Rhymes was born July 26, 1930 in Douglas, GA to the late Allie Ricketson Kirkland and the late Elmer Lee Kirkland. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur (Doc) Rhymes, a brother Rev. E. J. Kirkland, a Granddaughter, Tiffany Cherie Griffis and a Grandson, James Brett Shepard.

Mrs. Rhymes was a homemaker and a past Secretary/Treasurer of her church, Antioch Holiness Baptist Church.

Survivors include:

5 Daughters: Marilyn R. Maye and husband Thomas of Largo, FL, Wanda R. Griffis and husband Eddie, Carole R. and Ronnie Pickren, Cheryle R. Shepard and Husband William, all of
Brunswick, GA, Cathy R. (Keith) Wiggins of St. Simon Island, GA

11 Grandchildren: Jeffrey T. Maye, Brian T. Maye, David C. Maye and wife, Sally, Elizabeth A. Maye, Laura P. Hardy and husband, Tony, Jennifer Presson, Lisa King, Keith Pickren and wife Michele, Jason Pickren, Rachel Daniels and Joey Underwood

Many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Boyd officiating. He pastors at the Church of God of Prophesy in Brunswick, GA. Interment will follow in Douglas City Cemetery in Douglas, GA.

The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Chapel of Ricketson Funeral Home in Douglas, GA

Active Pallbearers for the service will be son-in-laws: Thomas R. Maye, Eddie Griffis, William Shepard, Ronnie Pickren, Keith Wiggins and a grandson-in-law, Tony Hardy.

Due to COVID-19, the family would like to ask that all attendees please follow the rules of social distancing and wear your mask for safety precautions at the service.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
