Julian Hernandez-Acuna, age 61, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, Georgia. Mr. Hernandez-Acuna was born on February 9, 1960 in Mexico.

 

Mr. Hernandez-Acuna worked as a farmer with McCollum Farms, was a member of the Mexican Army and was a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Douglas, Georgia.

 

Survivors include his wife, Maria Ines Hernandez-Bustos of Nicholls, GA; 2 sons, Julian Hernandez Jr. (Kayla) of Savannah, Ga and Steven Hernandez (Erika) of Nicholls, GA; 2 daughters, Cynthia Hernandez (Julian Ochoa) of Brunswick, GA and Diana Hernandez (Jasiel Ochoa) of Brunswick, GA; 6 grandchildren, Aden Ochoa, Jaan Ochoa, Tristian Hernandez, Elena Hernandez, Liam Ochoa and Kian Ochoa; 2 sisters, Mirosalva Hernandez and Agelica Sotelo both of Texas; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

 

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 28, 2021 from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Douglas, GA.

 

A funeral mass will be held on Monday, November 29, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church with Father Paul O’Connell officiating. Interment will follow at Satilla Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Julia Hernandez Jr., Steven Hernandez, Martin Bustos, Salvador Vargas, Roberto Ortiz and Cesar Luna.

 

Attendees are asked to comply with the current guidelines and restrictions concerning containment of the coronavirus, including masks and social distancing.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
