Capps named region softball player of the year, several Lady Trojans make All-Region

The Lady Trojans softball squad wrapped up the 2021 season with an appearance in the Sweet 16 followed by the annual team banquet. Coffee swept Mundy’s Mill in Round 1 but then fell to # 1 ranked Chamblee in Round 2.

 

Several Lady Trojans garnered post-season awards including All-Region and Honorable Mention, while Hannah Capps was named Region 1-AAAAA Player of the Year. Emily Robinson, Emily Elisis, Jenna Graham, Hannah Capps, and Erin Robinson were All-Region performers while Kaci Thacker and Lacey Stone were named Honorable Mention. Elisis and Capps were also named co-MVPs.

 

The following players were honored locally at CHS’s cafeteria on November 16:

  • Lady Trojan Slugger Award-Hannah Capps, Emily Elisis, Emily Robinson, Jenna Graham
  • Gold Glove Award-Hannah Capps, Kaci Thacker, Emily Elisis
  • Pitcher Award-Erin Robinson
  • Charlie Hustle Award-Hannah Capps
  • Wendell Miller Courage Award-Erin Robinson
  • Most Improved Award-Lacey Stone
  • Coach’s Award-Hanna Hutchison
  • Donnie Graham Award- Hanna Hutchison
  • Junior Varsity Awards-Abby Dockery, Chloe Merritt, Maggie Minchew, Ryli Nipper.
  • Coffee Middle School players receiving awards were: Ella Winters, Karlle Thomas, Channa Smith, Imori Paulk, Maggie Brown.
