Operation Gucci, a months-long drug investigation in Douglas, resulted in the arrests of James Robinson and Demarcus Holland, both of Douglas, on a variety of drug charges. Another investigation yielded two more arrests.
Operation Gucci began in June and focused on the residence at 915 Martin Luther King Drive. As a result, officers seized over 13 ounces of marijuana, 21 grams of heroin, 24 grams of cocaine, nearly 3 ounces of molly, and over $6,000.
Robinson and Holland were arrested and charged with:
- possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute
- possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- trafficking of MDMA (molly)
- trafficking of heroin
- possession of a controlled substance
- distribution/possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
Robinson was also charged with:
- possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- participation in criminal street gang activity
In November, the Crime Suppression Unit continued its investigation and served a search warrant at 801 Pine Street. Within the residence, officers discovered approximately 1.6 ounces of cocaine, 19.3 grams of molly, over 3 ounces of marijuana, one Ruger 5.7 handgun, 87 Oxycodone tablets, and over $3,600 in cash.
As a result, Dequatte Tucker and Anthony Gaskin, both of Douglas, were arrested and charged with:
- trafficking in cocaine
- possession of marijuana with intent to distribute
- possession of a schedule 2 controlled substance with intent to distribute
- distribution/possession of a controlled substance within 1000 feet of a school
- possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
Tucker was also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Tucker also had a probation warrant at the time of the operation.
