Barbara Joyce McGovern Austin, 84

Barbara Joyce McGovern Austin, born September 15, 1937, in Ruskin, Florida to the late Thomas J. and Maude Conley McGovern, departed this life on Sunday, December 19, 2021, at 84 years of age, in hospice care in Macon, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Christine McGovern, Estelle Boone, Lucy Jones, Lola Music, and her half-brothers and sisters, Lonnie, Willie, Terry, Hubert, Walt, and Dave McGovern, Ann Laura Crosby, and Fannie Geiger. She leaves behind brothers-in-law; Charles Boone and James Jones, as well as several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

 

Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at 11:00AM, at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery with her nephew, Lawton Steven Music, officiating. The family will receive friends after the graveside service at Reedy Branch Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
