Marcus Shane Kirkland, aged 48, of Nicholls, Georgia, passed away on Wednesday, December 29,2021. Mr. Kirkland was born on February 26, 1973, in Coffee County, Georgia, to Shelly Thomas Kirkland and Betty Jo Boatright.

 

Survivors include: His mother; Betty Jo Boatright of Douglas, GA, five Sisters; Stacey Bennett of Savannah, GA, Sandy Gill (Danny) of Blackshear, GA, Stephanie Boatright of Hazelhurst, GA, Wendy Wilson (Gerald) of Waycross, GA, Christina Molina of Jacksonville, FL, five Brothers; Stan Kirkland of Millwood, GA, Shawn Boatright (Denise) of Blackshear, GA, Steve Boatright of Blackshear, GA, Spence Boatright (Brenda) of Offerman, GA, and Thomas Kirkland (Nikita) of Blackshear, GA He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 12:00PM until 2:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

A graveside funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, at 2:00PM, at Satilla Memorial Gardens, with Elder John Keanon and Elder Steve Sirmans officiating. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be: Joel Spivey, Scott Spivey, Shannon Mitchell, Clayton Easom, Matt King, and Gage Mullis.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
