Mr. Charlie Wayne Spires, age 64 of Douglas, passed away Saturday morning, January 8, 2022 at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Spires was born December 1, 1957 to the late Luther Allen Spires and the late Velma Corrine Patton Spires. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Rhonda Spires and a brother: Billy Joe Spires.

Mr. Spires, a native of Coffee County, was a truck driver with P & M. He attended Southview Church of God.

Survivors include:

Children: Shonda Spires and Meagan Spires both of Douglas, GA
Clinton Spires of Cairo, GA

Brothers: Donnie Spires and wife Barbara of Douglas, GA
Warren Spires of Douglas, GA

Sister: Darlene Moore and husband Donald of Douglas, GA

Aunts: Gail Harnage of Moultrie, GA
Venita Lowery of Douglas, GA

Special Friend: Barbara Strickland of Douglas, GA

4 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends

A memorial service will be held at a later date.


Memorialization is by cremation.

Ricketson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
