Mr. Arthur Jordan McCallum, age 88 of Broxton, GA, passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Tift Health and Rehab Nursing Home in Tifton, GA following an extended illness. Mr. McCallum was born July 13, 1933 to the late James Jordan McCallum and the late Celie Lott McCallum. Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife: Gwendolyn Kirkland McCallum, a daughter: Martha Lynn McCallum Atkinson and a granddaughter: Jaime Ott.

Mr. McCallum, a native of Broxton, GA, was a prominent farmer in the Broxton area and had been a school bus driver for the Coffee County Board of Education for 21+ years. He was a dedicated member of Deberry Baptist Church. He was the oldest deacon and he had also been the song leader for many years.

Survivors include:

Children: Peggy Anne Ott and Arthur J. McCallum, Jr. both of Broxton, GA

Grandchildren: Kristin Atkinson of Thomasville, GA
Tiffany Atkinson of NC
John Jordan Ott of Broxton, GA
Kory McCallum and wife Kaila of Douglas, GA

Great Grandchildren: Tyson Cook and Maggie Cook both of Thomasville, GA
Bella McCallum and Onyx McCallum both of Douglas, GA
Adalyn Smith of Fitzgerald, GA

Several Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Many Friends.

The funeral service will be held, Saturday morning, January 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at DeBerry Baptist Church with Rev. Jeremy Cox, Rev. Larry Dean and Rev. Steve Atkinson officiating. The interment will follow in Deberry Cemetery. Mr. McCallum will be placed in the church to lie-in-state from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM Saturday morning, January 15, 2022.

Due to COVID-19, the family has asked all attendees to please follow the rules and guidelines for social distancing and to wear your mask for safety precautions at the visitation, service and interment.
