Virginia Faye Mancil Chaney, 75

Virginia Faye Mancil Chaney, age 75, of Nicholls, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 8, 2022, in Mt. Airy, North Carolina following an extended illness. Mrs. Chaney was born on July 23, 1946, in Nicholls, GA to Tim Mancil and Estelle Wright Mancil.

 

Survivors include: Three sons; Timothy Shumake of Mt. Airy, NC, James Nathan (Sandra) Chaney of Nicholls, GA, and Jeffery (Anita) Chaney of Nicholls, GA. One daughter; Shannon Carter of Mt. Airy, NC, and Melissa Chaney of Nicholls, GA, One sister; Catherine (Lacey) Gates of Cana, VA, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Chaney was preceded in death by:  Husband, James Talmadge Chaney; Father, Tim Mancil; Mother, Estelle Wright Mancil and Daughter Michelle Shumake.

 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 12, 2022, from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 13, 2022, at 11:00AM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Arna Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
