Dorlis Wilson Carter, age 67, of West Green, Georgia passed away on Sunday, January 16, 2022, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Carter was born on August 5, 1954, in Douglas, GA, to Thomas Bartow Wilson and Estelle Hersey Wilson.

 

Survivors include: Son, Joseph Griffin (Davina) Porter of Douglas, GA, Son, James C. (Marie) Porter of Douglas, GA, Sister, Margie Harrell of Douglas, GA, Brother, Darrell Wilson of Waycross, GA, Brother, Steve Wilson of Waycross, GA, Brother, Earl Wilson of Brunswick, GA, Brother, Carlos Wilson of Douglas, GA, Seven Grandchildren, Several Great Grandchildren, and several Nieces and Nephews. She was preceded in death by: Husband, James Carter; Two Sisters, Shirley Pritchard, Ruth Wilson; Brother, Ed Wilson; Father, Thomas Bartow Wilson; Mother, Estelle Hersey Wilson.

 

The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 6:00PM to 9:00PM at Sims Funeral Home.

 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 19, 2022, at 2:00PM, at the Chapel of Sims Funeral Home, with Rev. Cliff Kirkland officiating. Interment will follow at Roxie Mae Church Cemetery.

 

Due to COVID-19, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all guests and attendees to wear appropriate medical grade face masks and maintain social distancing at all times while visiting our facility, and highly encouraged at our services outside of our facility. Masks are not provided.

 

Sims Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
