Christine Elizabeth Cothren Whitley, age 85, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Coffee Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Whitley was born on October 18, 1936, in Pearson, GA, to Aaron Cothren and Pearlie Florence Little Cothren.

 

Survivors include: Daughter; Bernice Lott of Douglas, GA, Son; Joe Harrell (Shelby) of Douglas, GA, Grandchildren; Craig Harrell of Douglas, GA, Carey Tanner(Jimmy Ray) of Nicholls, GA, Whitney Lott of Pearson, GA, Sisters; Lucille Crosby of Axson, GA, Mattie Lee  Wright of Smyrna, GA, Betty Pridgen of Broxton, GA, Brother; Aaron “Buddy” Cothren of Douglas, GA, Great-Grandchildren; Cole Harrell (Kasey), Leah  Streat (Ryan), Kelby Tanner, Kalyn Tanner, Great-Great-Grandchildren; Lincoln Walker, Tessa Walker, Hadilyn Streat, and Harleigh Streat. Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by: Father, Aaron Cothren, Sr, Mother; Pearlie Florence Little Cothren, Husband; Paul Whitley, and a Son-in-law; Freddie Lott.

 

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 11:00AM, at Oak Grove Holiness Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at OakGrove Holiness Baptist Church, Ware County.

 

The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made to Sims Funeral Home in the name of Christine Whitley.

 

Due to Covid-19,, Sims Funeral Home Inc. will require all customers, guests, and attendees to wear medical grade masks at all times while in our facility, as well as social distancing. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however the safety of our staff and those we serve are our primary concern. Masks will not be provided.
